Gathering meaningful public feedback was a major goal and priority of the Trenton bike plan project team. A new memo, Community Engagement Strategies for Our Streets: A Trenton Bike Plan for All, provides insight into the public engagement process.

Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Week is designed to raise awareness of the importance of safe and reliable travel options for all users in the transportation planning process and to encourage employers to adopt TDM practices that help reduce the carbon footprint of their employees’ commutes.

This is the first article in a series of four data bulletins that analyze whether and how different variables affect pedestrian counts. Using data from DVRPC’s cyclical pedestrian count program, planners looked at how college population and transit access may impact pedestrian activity in the City of Philadelphia. It was found that college population and transit activity density significantly influence pedestrian counts, confirming that stratifying census tracts based on these factors effectively captures variations in pedestrian activity levels.

The Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) provides technical information and expertise to help municipal governments use transportation funds more effectively, improve road maintenance, and increase roadway safety.

The DVRPC Planning Fellowship is an opportunity for people of color to explore the field of city and regional planning, without prior training or experience, by spending a year working with various departments across the Commission. Applications are due by October 15, 2024.
