DVRPC Board Approves $12.253 Million for Bicycle and Pedestrian Projects in NJ

The Regional Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program funds community-based "non-traditional" projects designed to strengthen the cultural, aesthetic, and environmental aspects of the nation's intermodal transportation system.

At the December meeting, the DVRPC Board voted to award $12.253 million to five local projects in New Jersey through the Regional Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TASA). The federal program funds community-based "non-traditional" projects designed to strengthen the cultural, aesthetic, and environmental aspects of the nation's intermodal transportation system. Selected projects include trail, sidewalk, pedestrian improvements, and bicycle improvements. 

The Regional TASA selected projects and funding are:

  • Great Western Bikeway, Mercer County ($2,900,000)
  • Marine Terminal Trail and Cooper Field Connector, City of Trenton ($2,093,000)
  • Rancocas Creek Greenway, Historic Smithville Park Over Route 206 ($2,560,000)
  • Harrison Trail (Route 45 Main Street to the Mullica Bypass Cross Walk at Walter Road), Gloucester County ($1,400,000)
  • Camden County LINK Trail Segment 1D-3 ($3,300,000)
