Pottstown Area Rapid Transit (PART) Improvement Study

Pottstown Area Rapid Transit (PART) provides bus service throughout the Pottstown Metropolitan Region. Previously, PART worked with Michael Baker International to complete a Transit Development Plan with the intent of increasing efficiency and better connecting riders to regional destinations. The plan evaluated existing service, identified opportunities for streamlining, and resulted in route expansion to Boyerstown and Gilbertsville in 2020. Since the completion of this plan, both the Borough of Pottstown and the Pottstown Metropolitan Regional Planning Committee have expressed interest in increasing ridership on PART through bus shelter maintenance, marketing, and accessibility. As a result, DVRPC is conducting a 2-year study to develop specific recommendations to improve the PART system. This study includes identifying and prioritizing bus stop and access improvements, improving branding of PART by developing uniform signage and design, creating a design guide for shelters, and identifying potential funding sources for shelters, signage, and accessibility updates.
