The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Handbook provides an overview of the Pennsylvania TIP and the New Jersey TIP, including how they are developed and maintained, and how citizens can participate in the process. The TIP lists all transportation projects in the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission region that intend to use federal funds, along with non-federally funded projects that are regionally significant. The TIP represents the transportation improvement priorities of the region and is required by federal law, currently the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act. The projects in the TIP are multimodal; in addition to the more traditional highway and public transit projects, bicycle, pedestrian, and freight-related projects are also included.

Geographic Area Covered: The nine-county DVRPC Planning Area, which covers the counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania; and Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Mercer in New Jersey.
